School Curriculum
Primary and Kindergarten Curriculum Summary
Our school features a distinctive classroom setup with two homeroom teachers—one Korean and one English—providing a unique advantage for students through their joint commitment to each child's education. With a teaching staff comprising 47% Korean, 41% English, and 12% Mandarin teachers, we maintain a favorable teacher-to-student ratio of 1 to 3.6, ensuring personalized support for every pupil. More than half of our lessons are taught in English, with both teachers responsible for all core subjects.
Our curriculum promotes international awareness and global competence, integrating the Korean National Curriculum with an English immersion program that includes Oxford English, Pearson Mathematics, the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), and Mandarin studies. The Korean Curriculum is organized around various themes to ensure that the content learned can be applied to real life. English and Mandarin classes are leveled to meet the specific needs of students. The IPC features thematic units that encompass subjects such as art, geography, health, history, ICT, music, and science. Students engage in projects and presentations that develop skills beneficial for their future. Physical education enhances the curriculum, incorporating swimming and various new sports. Additionally, students can pursue their interests through extracurricular activities like orchestra, Samulnori, book clubs, tennis, table tennis, arts and crafts, coding, origami, and more.
Throughout the academic year, teachers organize numerous school-wide events, including Art Week, Science Fair, Book Week, Cultural Week, a Christmas concert, and a Christmas Fun Fair. These activities ensure a balanced blend of academic learning and enriching educational experiences.
